One warm sunny day my husband and I were searching for fun things to do with toddlers in Orange County. We came across Adventure City in Anaheim.
And are we ever glad we did!
We highly recommend it. Our toddler loved it, so did we, and we’re already looking forward to our next trip there.
Adventure City is perfect if you’re looking for something fun to do in Anaheim or Orange County that’s clean, family-friendly, and where the lines are always short! No need to wait in line for over an hour just to enjoy a thrilling ride that lasts less than a minute.
Plus there really IS something for everyone, from ages 1 and up.
Adventure City Theme Park in Anaheim
As the name suggests, Adventure City is a miniature city where kids can have their own adventure.
The carousel, train ride, and petting farm are classics that kids of all ages will love, but there are also rides tailored to specific age groups, like the Rewind Racers family roller coaster (for older kids) or Thomas the Train play area (for younger ones).
Here’s a list of all the rides:
1. Thomas the Tank Engine
2. Rock Climbing Wall
3. Children’s Theatre
5. Giggle Wheel
7. Rescue 911
8. Petting Farm
9. Freeway Coaster
10. Rewind Racers
11. Balloon ride
12. Barnstormer Planes
13. Drop Zone
14. Crank ‘n Roll (hand operated, kid-powered trains)
15. Adventure City Express Train

Adventure City Rides and Attractions
When you enter, the Thomas play area is at the front along with a place to rent a stroller and a misting area where your whole family can cool off. It was certainly a hit with our toddler!
From there, you’ll run into the Adventure City Carousel, Giggle Wheel, and Rescue 911 rides.
The Rescue 911 ride entrance is located inside the Fire Dept. gift shop and behind the Police Dept. facade. It consists of separate emergency rescue cars that run on a track that kids can “drive” themselves.
Both the Giggle Wheel (which is a mini ferris wheel) and Rescue 911 don’t have a minimum age or height requirement. Win win!
The Arcade, Children’s Theatre, Fill-Up Station, and restrooms are located to the left of the carousel.
Children’s Theatre showtimes for the day are posted near the theatre seating area. The live shows include songs, stories, and interactive shows with volunteer audience involvement.
Parker’s Fill-Up Station has delicious hot dogs, burgers, chili cheese fries, lemonade, and more. They even serve Starbuck’s coffee in case you need a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. 😉 Note that outside food and drink is not allowed, except for baby food and formula.
We were pleased to find a diaper changing station located in between the men and women’s restrooms that’s perfect for a quick change by either parent.
Pass through the Adventure City Airport for more fun rides with a transportation theme.
Fly your own bi-plane on the Barnstormer Planes, take a trip 25 feet in the air on the Balloon Ride, or steal a joy ride on the Freeway Coaster.
Then head over to the Rock Climbing Wall to scale new heights.
The Adventure City Crazy Bus, Crank ‘n Roll, and Express Train are located to the left of the Airport.
The Crank ‘n Roll is perfect for 3-6 year olds, the Crazy Bus is great for 2 and up, and the Express Train is suitable for all ages.
The Drop Zone, Rewind Racers roller coaster, and Petting Farm are located to the right of the Airport.
If you’re visiting with school-age children then they’ll enjoy the Rewind Racers and Drop Zone. They’re family roller coasters
We found the Petting Farm to be very clean (for a place that has live animals) and there’s a conveniently-located hand-washing station across from it. We even got to see some baby chicks that were only a few days old!
